Providence – Rhode Island cuenta con cámaras de velocidad instaladas en zonas escolares, que están ya funcionando a partir de hoy.
Según la ley estatal, un sistema automatizado de control de velocidad solo puede instalarse en zonas escolares, definidas como cualquier lugar dentro de un radio de 400 metros de una escuela. Las cámaras solo pueden estar activas entre las 7:00 a. m. y las 6:00 p. m. en días escolares.
A continuación las comunidades que cuentan con cámaras y la ubicación:
Central Falls:

East Providence
Las cámaras de la iglesia St. Margret’s en Pawtucket Avenue se activaron el 26 de agosto, según el teniente Kurt Hawes. Las cámaras cerca de la escuela secundaria Riverside, St. Mary’s Bay View, la escuela Kent Heights y la escuela secundaria East Providence se activarán el 27 de agosto.

Warwick
La ciudad de Warwick acaba de instalar cámaras en zonas escolares que estarán disponibles a partir del 28 de agosto. Habrá un período de gracia de 30 días antes de que se empiecen a emitir multas. El subjefe Andrew Sullivan indicó que las cámaras se encuentran en las siguientes ubicaciones:
